Marley is a typical, sweet, goofy lab with a great disposition and medium energy level. He loves to play fetch and tug o war, going for walks and rides, toys of any kind but especially balls. He is food motivated, and quick/eager to learn. He is house, leash, potty trained and uses a doggie door too. He knows many commands: careful, drop it, come, stay, go lay down, outside, go potty, go get it, bring it here, sit, up, down, stop, etc. Marley is good with other gentle, large, older dogs. Indifferent to cats. Marley is permanently blind with cataracts in both eyes, but it does not deter or stop him in any way. Our vet believes his blindness is genetic and he may have been born that way. He quickly learns the layout of his home and yard. He also has the beginning of arthritis in his hind left hock/ankle. Otherwise he is a healthy, happy boy. Because Marley is blind and may accidently knock/trip over small dogs and children, older kids and large breed dogs are his ideal housemates. He would do great as an only dog too. Marley has not been around livestock to our knowledge. Marley was rescued from the Hillsboro Tx Animal Shelter after being found in an abandoned rental car, dehydrated, underweight, very weak, with numerous deep cuts on his back and tail.
