Opie
Terrier Mix
Available for Adoption!
Opie traveled a long way to be a BDRA foster dog, but he immediately fit in, learned his way around, and made us fall in love with him. If you are old enough to remember Benji the dog from the 1970's movies, Opie looks like Benji!
Opie is an easy-going guy who is happy to be in his fluffy dog bed most of the day, usually with his head hanging over the side. He is a funny little dog. He loves belly rubs and lying in the sun. When he is awake, his tail is constantly wagging. His bark sounds a little like a squealing pig and he will let you know if he doesn't like something. He's not a lap dog but he's happy to take a nap next to you on the couch or in the bed with you.
A recent vet appointment revealed that Opie has a slight heart murmur and arthritis in his legs. He gets drops in his eyes twice a day for dry eyes.
Opie is such a cutie and gets along with other dogs, as long as they don't sneak up on him. He does great in the car... probably doesn't even realize he's in a car. He does not have any separation anxiety - or any anxiety at all. He was very good at veterinary and grooming appointments and they all loved him.
If you are looking for an adorable chill dog who will make you smile everyday, Opie is the fella for you!
