Wilma

American Staffordshire Terrier
Available for Adoption!

Hello from Wilma in NJ!

BDRA foster Wilma wants everyone to know she's still here and being a very good girl!

Her foster mom shared this update - Recently she had an assessment from a local dog trainer and did well, but wasn't interested in interacting with the other dogs. She barked when they did but just seemed very unsure of her surroundings. When we came home she went immediately to the fence where the neighbor's dogs gather, waiting for them to come outside.

Due to skin issues and allergies, her diet is restricted. Duck, venison, salmon, no grains dry dog food are fine, but according to her allergy tests, she is allergic to peas, carrots, barley, sweet potatoes, beef, and chicken. She also receives a regular Cytopoint shot, which helps.

Wilma continues to be a very sweet girl and is patiently waiting for her adoptive home. If you're looking for a sweet companion, Wilma may be the girl for you!

=====================================================

Wilma is a wonderful companion and a very sweet lady. She will gently take a piece of kibble or a treat from your hand. She loves treats and biscuits! Wilma also likes back rubs and sitting nearby her person. Walking is another favorite activity, and she will tilt her head to listen to the sounds in the neighborhood. She is a gentle walker, doesn't pull, but will stop to listen. She will respond with a deep bark to other barking dogs. She is not afraid of dogs and does not respond aggressively, but if a dog continues to bark at her, she will also keep barking.

Wilma gets along with the cat in her foster home as well as the rabbit. She will sit at the door to indicate she needs to go outside, and will go to her bed to nap or sleep for the night after she has visited outside. She's just a sweetheart who wants to be with her person!
