Meet Mary Puppins, or “Mama” as the shelter staff call her. We believe she is a lab/pit mix. She was dumped at the shelter locked in a kennel outside in October 2023, blind and pregnant. She had 7 chunky puppies born on Halloween that she successfully raised and was a GREAT mom! She kept her babies clean and quite plump! All of her puppies have been adopted, leaving “Mama” here all alone… 5 months in a kennel here has been a challenge for mama, as other dogs scare her. She would definitely do best in a home where she can be the queen of the house (the only dog). She loves people and would likely do well with kids when introduced properly. She does jump up to greet you, so older kids would probably be best. We think she would thrive in a home with experience caring for visually impaired animals, as she is still young (approximately 1 year 4 months) and would benefit from some training and manners. Mama is a beautiful girl with the softest coat, and she really needs a chance at a forever home. Mama is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and ready for a home. We hope someone will love her just as much as we do!
